Plate Single-Horn Hooks for Foundry Cranes

Plate single-horn hooks designed for foundry cranes are manufactured with lifting capacities ranging from 40.0 to 315.0 tons. These hooks have a height from 2400.0 to 6080.0 mm and a weight of 950.0 to 17,700.0 kg, respectively.

Compared to forged hooks, plate hooks are much easier to manufacture and more reliable, since the destruction of plates does not occur simultaneously. However, they are heavier than forged ones. To increase service life, the throat of plate hooks is protected with special replaceable plates made of "mild" steel, which can be replaced as they wear out. Single-horn hooks used for lifting a ladle with molten metal are installed in pairs on a special traverse beam. The ladle is equipped with trunnions for gripping by the hooks.
