"GruzoPod'yom" Held Its First Professional Skills Competition Among Electric Gas Welders

The internal professional skills competition "Best in Profession – 2024" among electric gas welders was held at the "GruzoPod'yom" production facility. The competition consisted of two parts: theory and practice.

The first stage tested participants’ knowledge: they randomly selected 10 questions and had 15 minutes to answer them. The second stage was practical—contestants performed welding tasks with different types of joints. Their tasks included welding a T-joint in a vertical position, a butt joint in a horizontal position, and a butt weld on pipe products. The time limit for the task was two hours.

Each participant was supervised by members of the competition committee, who assessed the assembly of welded joints, total control time, time spent on assembling and welding each sample, compliance with occupational safety standards, and the correctness of the work performed. The finished samples underwent inspection in a non-destructive testing laboratory, where they were checked using visual and measurement methods, while butt joints were tested using ultrasound.

Based on the competition results, the winners were:

1st place – Aleksei Sergeevich Alexandrov (238.04 points)
2nd place – Rustem Mukhamadievich Vagizov (226.41 points)
3rd place – Vyacheslav Evgenyevich Chibayev (225.31 points)

All participants received commemorative gifts, while the winners were awarded certificates, medals, and cash prizes. The main prize of the competition—a trophy—was presented to the winner, Aleksei Sergeevich Alexandrov.
