Plate-type double-horn hooks designed for general-purpose cranes are manufactured with a lifting capacity from 80.0 to 320.0 tons. These hooks have a height ranging from 1170.0 to 2330.0 mm and a weight of 1060.0 to 5600.0 kg, respectively.

Plate-type hooks are easier to manufacture than forged ones and more reliable, since the plates do not fail simultaneously. However, they are heavier than forged ones. To extend the service life, the opening of plate hooks is protected by special replaceable plates made of “mild” steel, which can be replaced as they wear out.
